Robert Lee and Bea
Many a tide have ebbed and flowed
Since love was affirmed by two
Noble appealing souls of old
Near this kingdom by the sea
Their tender footprints of love
Etched four feet and ten teeny toe tracks
In sand that washed out to sea.
Now these return in granular form on shores
Near this kingdom by the sea
Celestial bodies still stand guard
Larking dripping with envy.
Poised to disrupt and claim other lovers
Captivated by their own charm
Like Bea and Robert Lee
The chill of the night wind remains steadied
And still hunches over the crest
Of foamy waves rushing in pushing out
To hinder other lovers who dare dwell
Near this kingdom by the sea
